1) I think, and I could be totally wrong, but I think that DCS8 is going to be just for the color calc. Making a shell for the color doesn't mean abandoning the other users; presumably if he keeps them as two separate things (which for the sake of size is probably a good idea), he'll still work on the other shell, too.

2) I don't really like that idea. The first reason being that there should be as little fluff in the packets as possible. The second being that someone could change the name of their program and then it wouldn't work. If the programmer decided to send that data, then so be it, but it's certainly not something I'd standardize on. The hubs are really just servers, which makes this work like the standard client-server paradigm everyone knows and loves.

As for your question, we have an entire forum dedicated to z80 asm, and you even have your own "asm questions" topic. Those would be more appropriate places to ask (that being said, if someone does know they'll probably answer. I'm just suggesting asking there if you can't get a response).

The problem with a Run box is that it requires lots of typing. The fewer keystrokes it takes to get anything done, especially for newbies on a calculator, the better.
I think he doesn't mean to supplant any existing features, but rather have this as an addition for power-users. It might be more typing, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's slower--just like with Windows: it's usually faster to type the name of the program after hitting the Windows key than it is to navigate all the windows.
