Yes, I know that the variable will not be updated.
The feature I am asking is useful when I need to record exact time of observation, with better than a second resolution. Situation in case, I look into telescope and wait until the star reaches hairline, then I hit the button to save time. I could have just turn away from telescope and look at the timer (that's what I did), but then i have to remember time for a few seconds, switch to spreadsheet and type it. It is harder than you think, especially in the dark. Also, the feature would prevent from mistyping the number or remembering it wrong.
Speaking of dark -- thanks for implementing the gradual slelction of the backlight. Of standard 5 levels, the darkest (1) is still way too bright and messes the night vision.
