Both probably true, but why less true to gay couples than straight couples?

One argument is that it is developmentally important for children to have strong role models of both genders. I haven't seen any studies that lend data one way or the other on that point.
This could be a good time to get into cisnormativity and the gender binary, but it's probably not...

I always ask people to consider how much their anti-gay-couple-with-children argument applies to children of separated or divorced or single parents (like myself) and to think about the fact that they might not apply the same arguments to such families as a possible indication that they simply don't like gay people.

I have to say, in my experience, the people who are concerned about same-sex parenting being disadvantageous for children have the same (or similar) concerns about single/separated/divorced parenting.
I think it's just true that MOST PEOPLE are concerned about single/separated/divorced parenting (and there's surely data to back up that concern), but at the very least, people aren't quite as vocal about it (for just a small example, we don't have a thread here about whether we should make divorce illegal).

Well, not to be a hate-group Smile, but I am a Christian so yes I do believe homosexuality is wrong just from that standpoint.
Being a Christian does not necessitate being a bigot (see every non-self-hating gay Christian (I'm a big fan of what Matthew Vines has to say, though some of our better-versed Christian scholars (read: elfprince) have other opinions), and the many many many Christians who support marriage equality).

But to consider it from a scientific and logical standpoint, we, as humans, are well...animals. Not in a bad way, but we're definitely mammals and share lots of DNA with apes, everybody agree right? Well what is the main goal of all animals? To reproduce and survive as a species, and this requires two animals of opposite genders getting together and making one. Smile That, as animals, could be considered scientifically to be our main purpose. But...homosexuality kind of messes with that...from a scientific standpoint, homosexuality shouldn't be happening. You never see other homosexual animals do you? Very Happy

The gay penguins who raised a baby together were probably the most famous. There's also the gay finches who mate for life. Doing just a tiny bit of research would've given you lotsofresults. Even just having two male dogs (or one male dog and one anything else) would give you such examples.
