As I mentioned on IRC, I'm leery of the max-width/max-height solution out of concern that it might hide an issue for too long. To clarify, if the avatar is huge in dimensions and bytes, but doesn't look big, then it might take us awhile to realize that some inconsiderate user is slowing everyone's page-loads down and solve it, whereas with a non-shrunk avatar is much more obvious.

When I link to an avatar, Cemetech doesn't seem to care how big it is so if I use a really big image it screws up the page layout. Perhaps they could do with a max width and max height? Copying and uploading images aren't affected because they limit avatars to 80x80. |
